Her dream is to be the first blind participant in the AFS (American Field Service) foreign exchange program. She wishes to spend her high school senior year in her ancestral home of Portugal.

Nick lives in San Jose with his parents and his sighted twin brother, Chris. He writes and plays in a “punk-pop alternative garage” band called No Mistake. His goal in the film is to rock out at a local show and premiere his new song, Mistreat Me, which he wrote about being underestimated because of his disability. But it’s harder than he thinks to keep the band together and make sure a huge crowd will come rock out to his music.
Carina went blind at age 12 from a botched laser eye surgery. She is second generation Mexican-American. Although she has faced many obstacles in receiving an adequate education, she is working hard to be the first member of her family to graduate high school and go on to college.

Favorite Activity: Hiking in the redwoods with her family
Hannah was adopted from China at age 12 1/2 and now lives in the Northern California city of Arcata. While she quickly assimilated into American culture, she still revisits China at night in her sleep. Her dream is to rediscover her roots by returning to the southern Chinese province where she was raised.
